TASCAM Unveils iU2 At NAMM

TASCAM’s iU2 is a premium sound quality audio interface for the iPad, iPhone and iPod Touch. It includes all of the features of TASCAM’s best-selling USB audio interfaces, including a pair of great-sounding microphone inputs. The XLR inputs have phantom power for use with high-quality condenser microphones. These feed an onboard microphone preamp and A/D converter for better sound performance than those built into iPhone and iPad – true stereo recording with low noise and less tendency to distort. The inputs also accept line-level signals or you can plug a guitar or bass directly into your device. In addition to compatibility with iOS devices, the iU2 also works with Mac and Windows computers. A zero-latency monitoring path allows musicians to hear themselves directly through the unit, without any distracting delay. MIDI in and out are provided to interface with synths and drum machines, and a digital output connects to digital mixers or recorders.

TASCAM Adds DP-24 To PortaStudio Line

TASCAM’s DP-24 is a 24-track Digital Portastudio with solid-state recording, a color LCD and channel strip controls to make recording simple so you stay creative. Up to eight tracks can be recorded at a time through its combination XLR and ¼” combo jacks. Input processing like compression and limiting are available during recording, as well as guitar amp simulation and multi-effects for use with the instrument-level input. Once recorded, tracks can be viewed and mixed on the large color LCD and dedicated mixing controls like nineteen linear faders and a dozen channel strip encoders. Two Mixdown effects including reverb and chorus are also available, as well as a mastering effect. Once finished, songs can be transferred to computer over USB or written to CD with the built-in CD-RW drive. With its great sound, powerful features and easy operation, the DP-24 is TASCAM’s best Portastudio yet.

Announcing The DigiTech iStomp

DigiTech announced the introduction of the iStomp pedal, an entirely new concept in guitar stompboxes that allows musicians to program the effect pedal with any sound they want – and change it at any time. Offering almost limitless sonic possibilities, the iStomp connects to an iPod Touch®, iPhone®, or iPad® enabling musicians to load the effect of their choice into the iStomp. The iStomp pedal connects to an Apple iOS device using the DigiTech Smart Cable that comes with the iStomp. Once connected, the DigiTech StompShop provides two of the most popular requested effects, the DigiTech Total Recall Delay and the DigiTech Redline Overdrive with the initial purchase. The app also offers access to additional effects that iStomp owners can browse, try out, and purchase for their stompbox. The iStomp pedal has four knobs to control effects parameters, which change their function according to which effect is loaded. Crown Adds PIP-BLU To Module Lineup

The BSS & Crown® PIP-BLU is a PIP™ (Programmable Input Processor) input module for CTs 2 Channel Amplifiers (CTs 600,1200, 2000, 3000). It connects the amplifier to a 100 Mb Ethernet network allowing it to be remotely controlled and monitored using HiQnet™ London Architect as well as provide digital audio transport via BLU link. The PIP-BLU offers 2 channels of audio via the Soundweb London digital audio bus informally known as BLU Link. This high bandwidth digital audio bus provides easy connectivity with fault tolerance. BLU link features a low latency, fault tolerant digital audio bus of 256 channels which uses standard Category 5e cabling giving a distance of 100m between compatible devices. The BSS Audio MC-1 fiber optic media converter can be used to increase the distance between devices to over 10km (6.2 miles) using single mode fiber.

The latest addition to the successful line of HARMAN’s AKG WMS40 MINI series now features a dual channel receiver. Aviom Introduces Pro64 AllFrame System

Reduce labor and system costs and get unprecedented performance with Aviom’s all-new Pro64 AllFrame Multi-Modular I/O System. Soundcraft Releases V2 Software For Si Compact

New free upgrade provides more than 23 major new features, updates and enhancements, including additional DSP channels giving the Si Compact 16 thirty-two channels to mix, and the Si Compact 24 and 32 forty channels to mix. New user configurable fader layers allow input channels to be reassigned anywhere on either input layer and any bus master to be reassigned to either master layer. Now an engineer can put the inputs and returns where he will most want to access them, for example, having the main vocal or presenter always in position 1 on both input fader layers, or mixing aux and matrix masters on a single bus layer to reduce the number of layer changes. Other V2 enhancements include additional information displayed in the Function Focus window, improved matrix mix facilities, Show file & folder management, better navigation, improved default settings, HPF settings added to EQ curve graphics and more.

The DMS70 operates with 24bit 48 kHz transmission to ensure top-quality audio for every customer. The frequency range is the 2.4GHz ISM band a worldwide license-free frequency band. DMS70 is designed for live sound, club sound, conferences, seminars, schools and universities – whenever quick and easy setup up is required. Introducing JBL All Weather Series

The JBL ALL WEATHER Series is a family of high power, lightweight, 2-way, full-range loudspeaker systems comprised of the JBL Differential Drive® dual voice coil and dual magnetic gap low frequency 12” and 15” woofers and 2432H high-frequency 38mm (1.5 in) exit, 75mm (3 in) voice-coil compression driver. The large format Progressive Transition™ wave-guides provide excellent high-frequency coverage patterns. The waveguides are rotatable so the loudspeaker system can used in either the vertical or horizontal orientation.

JBL's CS Series Fits Many Applications

Providing high-quality audio amplification performance and simple system control to an array of vertical markets, JBL debuted the CSA-2120 power amplifier. The 2-channel amplifier provides simple front-end amplification and a switch mode universal power supply. JBL also introduced the CSM-32 and CSM-21 Commercial Series Mixers that provide an entry-level, cost-effective approach to commercial audio applications such as retail, hospitality and conferencing. The new mixers can be configured for a range of uses such as paging, background music, and security applications, do not require a computer for configuration and are designed with simple analog-style controls. JBL Professional also announced the addition of the CSS-1S/T surface-mount loudspeaker to its CSS Commercial Series Speaker lineup of cost-effective ceiling speakers and backcans.
